Nile Rodgers wrote this today about the loss of Donna Summer yesterday.
"I'm sitting in the airport trying not to shed more tears and it's almost impossible. I'm trying to put on a happy face for fans coming over to take photos and talk about how great the show was last night meanwhile all I can see is Donna's face and her perfect voice in my head.I have many big future plans and calling on Donna to be a part of some of them was absolutely my vision. Now I sit here stunned.Soon I'll catch a plane, get of in Texas, and do the best show I'm capable of doing because at the end of the day we mainly do it for the people.I respect you Donna. I miss you Donna. And most of all, I Love You Donna.Your humble fan always, -Nile"
We here at chictribute.com also mourns the loss of this great woman. A music giant that deserved much better than she ever got.
Below are a clip with her no. 1 hit with Barbra Streisand "No More Tears (Enough Is Enough)" which features CHIC's first choir leader Luther Vandross on background vocals, and as the background vocal arranger.
